The Triad Commute Challenge Commuter Dash 5K run/walk event is the kick-off event for the 9th Annual Triad Commute Challenge. By registering for the Commuter Dash, participants 16 and over agree to try an alternate commute option (bike, walk, bus, vanpool, carpool, ride the train, telecommute) instead of driving alone at least once by April 30th.
Race Time: 9:00 AM-12:00 PM
Cost: Free, with pledge to try an alternative mode of transportation.
Same Day Registration / Packet Pick-Up: 7:30 – 8:30 AM.

Restrictions: You must be 16 years of age or older to take the Triad Commute Challenge and to REGISTER for the Commuter Dash 5K event. While children may participate with an adult, they will NOT be officially timed and should NOT be registered. Pets and strollers are welcome!
Course Description: USA Track & Field Certified 5K. The starting point for the Commuter Dash will be the Winston-Salem Merschel Plaza (formerly the Civic Plaza). This out and back course will follow the Strollway south to the Greenway and return to downtown Winston-Salem. The course will be monitored by volunteers as well as police for safety. From Greensboro & Points East: 1. I-40 West 2. Continue on I-40BUS W/US-421 N, follow signs for Interstate 40/Kernersville/Winston-Salem Downtown 3. Take exit 5D for Main St toward Downtown/1st St 4. Left on 4th Street
From Winston-Salem & Points West: 1. I-40 East 2. Take exit 5D toward Old Salem/Salem College/Downtown 3. Keep left at the fork, follow signs for Downtown and merge onto S Main St 4. Left on 4th Street
From High Point & Points South: 1. Take 311 North 2. Merge onto I-40 W 2. Take exit 193B for US-52 N/U.S. 311 N 3. Take exit 109B for I-40 BUS W/US-158 W/US-421 N/N Carolina 150 W toward Downtown 4. Take exit 5D for Main St toward Downtown/1st St 5. Turn right onto S Main St 6. Left on 4th Street
Parking/Transportation: FREE Transportation will be provided to the event by PART, GTA, and HiTran. Seats will be reserved on a first come 1st served basis.
